OUR STORY

Axel and Ida Ådahl bought the Huggars homestead after returning from Telluride, Colorado, USA in the early 1900.

After 16 long years working in mines, hotels, and even running their own boarding house they decided to return to their roots in Finland.

After returning home Axel went on working in the mines of South Africa for two years after finally settling at Huggars.

Axel and Ida were true adventures!

In the 1930s Ida became a devoted pentecostal and Huggars became known for numerous prayer and revival meetings.

In the early 1990s Doris Björkgren (granddaughter) and her husband Gustav bought the place and made a complete restoration of the house. In 2020 a second large renovation was completed. The current hosts are the 4th generation at Huggars.
